Along with the brand-new release of Diptyque’s body lotions, the iconic fragrance based brand connected with us to create a concept and illustration to influence local journalists to celebrate the occasion by publishing its release. We set out to create an unlikely approach with a personalised touch so that each journalist could sense the palpable pursuit of their involvement. Along with gifting the lotion, four products in total were included in a gift pack combining four elements of texture. To tie into this pattern we included illustrated cards with the pack, each hand illustrated, drawn and painted with four texturally differing stationary. To authentically individualise each card, a hand drawn portrait of each journalist along with the unique illustrated aromas were included in each of the 40 packs. We enjoyed that we could create that element of surprise, when the journalist opened their pack and looked at the card and double taking before realising “OH, that’s me!”.
