CNY & VALENTINE'S DAY
Who doesn’t like a Gucci clad cow couple!? Having fun with the design of the pockets and packaging of Le Dessert’s Valentines Day/Chinese New Year collection meant blending the two festivities. We approached the design straying against the norm, yet still incorporating tradition imagery associated with the day. Going with a fluorescent pink instead of generic red was a unmissable eye feast, but they do say you eat first with your eyes. Having the valentine’s day couple doubling as the cow of Chinese New Year set the tone for the overall illustration. With recognisable symbolism such as hearts & love birds or dragon costume & oranges, the blending of the days wasn’t lost in the design.
CHRISTMAS PACKAGING DESIGN
Similarly for their Christmas campaign, we chose orange over red and green, as it is a very warm colour perhaps being associated with sipping brandy by a fireplace, toasted nuts, or the smell or nutmeg and cinnamon that still reference that Christmas feeling. Incorporating the hand from the logo itself, we kept to the iconic Christmas motif using it to hold or display holiday trinkets, as well as the signature dessert The Pavlova.
