STARBUCKS
WALL PAPER
The wall design created for Starbucks was to be a re-interpretation of the famous Siren, who lucky for us had swam all the way to Hong Kong. Steering clear of the generic cartoonish “under the sea” motif, moody neutral tones were utilised to give an authentic feel that made her come to life. Entwined in detailed seaweed and other botanics creates a whimsical altered reality drawing a person’s gaze over the intricate design. The design also needed to be clear from a far, but also have smaller etchings that would catch a person eye from up close. For example tiny people leaping from the sea branches or the Hong Kong skyline that was drawn in precise detail so people could say “hey, that’s my building!”.
